MOTT THE HOOPLE
Le groupe enregistre en 1974 l' album "The Hoople" qui contient notamment "The Golden Age Of rock'n Roll", "Roll Away the Stone" et "Marionnette".
Après la sortie de "The Hoople", un album live "Mott the Hoople Live" a été rapidement publié, après que Mick Ronson ait remplacé Bender à la demande de Hunter.
Mick Ronson ne deviendra guitariste du groupe que le temps d'un seul 45 tours en 1974 intitulé "Saturday Gigs". 
Puis, lors de la tournée Américaine suivante avec Queen en première partie, Ian Hunter est hospitalisé pour dépression nerveuse.
