Premier album solo de Ian Hunter après son départ de Mott the Hoople.
C'est aussi le premier de plusieurs albums solo sur lesquels il collabore
avec Mick Ronson.
Le single "Once Bitten Twice Shy" sera son premier et dernier single top
20 au Royaume-Uni. Le groupe de heavy metal Great White
reprendra plus tard la chanson sur leur album de 1989, Twice Shy.
Après avoir quitté Mott the Hoople au début de 1975, Ian Hunter s'est
rapidement lancé dans l'enregistrement de cet album éponyme.
Il n'est pas surprenant qu'il contienne beaucoup du charme glam rock de
l'ancien groupe de Hunter: "The Truth, the Whole Truth, Nothing But the
Truth" et "I Get So Excited" sont des mélodies qui combinent des riffs
"punchy" hard rock avec des paroles intelligentes similaires à celles de
Mott the Hoople.
